Andhra Pradesh government has allocated lands for the construction of nine thematic cities in the new capital Amaravathi for which the concept designs would be submitted by the Norman Foster and Partners company on February 22. The government has announced allocation of 11,574 acres of land for the construction of Tourism thematic city in Amaravathi, 8,547 acres for Knowledge city, 6,582 for Electronic city, 6,511 for Health city, 5,168 for Finance city, 5,107 for Media city, 4,150 for Sports city, 3,438 for Judiciary and 2,702 for the construction of Administrative city, Official sources said. In the Tourism Thematic city, star hotels and other entertainment zone would come up. Out of 11,574 acres allocated for Tourism city, 8778 acres would be open place, residential quarters would come up in 1,397 acres, commercial establishments in 451 acres and 156 acres were allocated to special zone. In the Knowledge city, universities and technological institutions would come up. 979 acres were allocated for special zone while 1322 acres were earmarked for future needs. These nine thematic cities would be constructed with international standards. Three Internal roads with 60 meters width would be constructed connecting the nine thematic cities. 97.5 KM six lane Inner Ring Roads, 186 KM 8 lane Outer Ring Road would be constructed around the Capital city. There is also proposal to construct 134 KM metro rail connecting Amaravathi. The government has acquired 32,448 acres of land from 25,796 farmers under Land Pooling Scheme for the construction of new capital Amaravathi. This is for the first time in India, any such things are happening for building the Capital City of a State, So it’s really going to give a good boost to the overall market around Amaravathi.
