SANGAREDDY: Telangana government will be turning Narsapur forest, located some 50 km from Hyderabad, into a tourist attraction to ‘protect’ the reserved forest from deforestation and encroachment.
As part of the State government’s spree of developing parks in Reserved Forests around Hyderabad, senior officials from CMO along with senior officials from Forest and Revenue departments visited Narsapur on Friday and announced that urban forest park will be constructed in the reserved forest along with an eco-tourism centre.
Along with this, restoration works will be conducted at the Narsapur lake and 40 km long fence will be erected around the forest park. The officials also announced that in the phase-IV of ‘Telangana ku Haritha Haaram’, saplings plantation will be undertaken of such tree species which will provide a good habitat for monkeys.
Beautiful view from the Watchtower of Narsapur Forest Urban Park, which is less than an hour from my home in Kukatpally. It actually takes longer time to get to my office at Waverock some times.
Apparently this park has opened in the recent years, and is an initiative from Telangana government to turn part of the part of the forest region into a tourist attraction to ‘protect’ the reserved forest from deforestation and encroachment.
This is easily one of the must visit places around. Watch tower allows you to enjoy and appreciate the sprawling size and lung space available of this huge Narsapur forest.
