Hyderabad: Construction of buildings should be in accordance with prescribed regulations, failing which they will be subjected to demolition without any consideration, cautioned Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner M Dana Kishore here on Saturday.
will raze illegal constructions
Speaking at a meeting organised to create awareness on the guidelines to be followed and approvals to be obtained while taking up new constructions, he said the State government had taken a serious view on unauthorised constructions and reiterated its stand on not sparing such constructions.
As per the RERA Act, all details related to a project have to be provided along with a brochure and buyers should also take a flat only after getting needed details and verifying them, he said. The permissions for builders are given by the GHMC in accordance with the National Building Code and those taking up construction beyond permissions end up facing problems, Dana Kishore pointed out.
More than 500 building construction designs have been incorporated in the GHMC website and the officials were always available to offer suggestions and advise, he said. Every building that receives permission would be inspected three times during the construction phase and required approvals would be given only to those adhering to the norms.
The awareness meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, Chief City Planner Devender Reddy, zonal commissioners and others. Queries from the participants were also answered by the officials at the meeting which the civic body intends to hold on a monthly basis at zonal offices.
